Need some careers advice to help you decide which direction to go in? Have you heard about our Action Plan service? Career Action Planning is a free service available through the National Careers Service that allows you to put together a personal step-by-step guide to help you achieve your career goals; whether that’s getting your first job, your next job or making a career change.

You can put together an Action Plan by meeting with one of Inspira's Careers Advisers who will ask you a series of questions about your current situation and where you’d like to be in the future.

By analysing your answers to these questions,  you and your Careers Adviser will come up with a series of ideas and tasks that will help you to achieve your goals, and give you some achievable deadlines for completing each task.

It is important to set yourself both short term and long term goals, as this will help give you sense of direction and motivate you to keep working towards your end goal, whatever that may be.

Make your own notes during this process and be sure that you have a clear and specific action to take in relation to each of the ideas and steps you agree to take.

Set yourself realistic deadlines to complete each of the challenges and remember that this is YOUR Action Plan and you are free to edit, change, add and remove things  as time goes on and your circumstances, goals and dreams change.

To talk to an adviser and get careers advice over the phone and/or arrange a face-to-face appointment, call us on 0345 658 8647 and we’ll put your through to your nearest Inspira centre. Lines are open 8am-6pm, Monday to Friday.

If you have a Lifelong Learning Account your Action Plan will automatically be saved there, ready for you to edit, download or print, whenever you like.
