Inspira Corporate Who we are What we do Work with us News & features Customer site Choices after Year 11 under the spotlight in North Cumbria Next week, Year 11 students and their parents will be able to access advice on the vast range of options open to 16 year olds after GCSEs at the annual Progression Event held by Inspira. Susan Watkins, Deputy Area Operations Manager for Inspira in Carlisle and Eden said, “There have been some changes in the education and career landscape in relation to apprenticeships, traineeships and full-time options. It is important young people are aware of the different routes so that they can make the right choice for themselves.” The event will consist of a presentation from Inspira, providing information, advice and guidance on education routes, career options and personal development followed by the opportunity for a one to one appointment with an Inspira Adviser to discuss options in more detail. Chris Darrall, Professional Adviser at Inspira said, “’This is a pertinent time in the autumn to brief young people about the choices they can make during a crucial year in their lives. Following these initial briefings, there will be a range of further events up until Easter 2019 and beyond, such as college open evenings, for young people to learn more and take plans forward. It’s well worth giving career progression some thought.” Progression events are being held from 5:30pm – 7:00pm at Harraby Community Centre on Tuesday 6th November 2018 and at Penrith Methodist Church on Thursday 8th November 2018. There is no need to book a place, young people and their families can just turn up on the night.
