Robin Casson is currently the Director of Growth and Partnerships at the University of Cumbria, having moved back to the county of his birth in 2016 following a career in education in a variety of roles.

After graduating in 1976 at the University of Leeds, and then qualifying as a teacher in 1977, Robin embarked on a career in a range of Local Authorities as a teacher, youth worker, adult educator, and community development worker. He went to Northumberland as Head teacher of Prudhoe Community High School in 1999, and led the school to being one of the top 100 most improved schools. In 2005 he was appointed as the Director of Education and Skills for Northumberland County Council, a post he held for 8 years.

Robin joined Inspira because he is passionate about supporting young people through adolescence and the transition to adulthood. He saw Inspira as a way of using his experience to benefit the young people of Cumbria
