Inspira is delighted to be a key partner for Lancashire’s Invest in Youth project which is delivered exclusively by social enterprises and community organisations.
This inspirational project aims to transform the futures of young people aged between 15 and 24 in the Lancashire area who would like to work but are unable to without additional skills or support. Through this project we work with young people who are not in employment, education or training (NEET), including young people at risk of becoming NEET.
Through the Invest in Youth project, you will receive intensive support from an Adviser to be able to engage in work readiness activity. Following an initial assessment of your individual interests and the barriers you face around entering work or further learning, our Adviser will guide you to achieve the agreed milestones set out within your personal action plan.
The support through the Invest in Youth project is voluntary, FREE to access and does not affect rights to benefits.
Three years of success…
Due to the success of its first 3 years’ delivery the Invest in Youth project has been extended and over its lifetime will support 1566 young people aged 15-24 to overcome their barriers and move closer to employment, education or training.
Saving lives in Lancashire…
The Invest in Youth project was independently evaluated and found to be “fundamental to people’s progression and well-being”. Without the project often people would be continuing to do ‘nothing’, being aimless and ‘lost’.
In some cases, the impact was even more profound, with several participants stating they may no longer be here if it wasn’t for the support they’ve had. The holistic, slow-paced support lead by workers the young people have developed strong bonds with have been central to success.
