Jobtrain is a personal development course created by Inspira in conjunction with the Department of Work and Pensions through the Flexible Support Fund. The course has been designed specifically to help Jobcentre Plus districts in Cumbria, North Lancashire and Blackpool trial different approaches to tackling unemployment.

The course aims to improve and develop motivation, confidence, financial planning and management, digital job search skills, and social interaction, while also managing the health conditions and different lifestyles of participants.

During and after the programme, each individual claimants' progress, strengths and weaknesses are documented and a number of activities are agreed in order to help individuals progress towards employment.

“We really did our best and kept at it. We failed our final challenge, but I now realise it doesn't matter. As far as I'm concerned, we're all winners. I'll use this experience as a reminder of the importance of teamwork and supporting fellow co-workers. I'll use everything I learned when going to interviews, apprenticeships and jobs in the future.
