Inspira launches new National Careers Service careers help in Preston

Inspira launches the new National Careers Service in Preston today (1st of October) which sees help available for six new priority groups. They are NEETS aged 18-24, unemployed over 12 months, low skilled adults, single parents, those aged 50+ who are, inactive, unemployed or at risk of unemployment and adults with special educational needs or have a disability.

Inspira, who is a leading career management and personal development organisations based in Cumbria will deliver the service from the Jobcentre in Preston.

Inspira is also delivering The National Careers Service throughout Cumbria, Lancaster and Morecambe.

“We are pleased to be able to offer this new and enhanced service,” said Mark Bowman, Chief Executive of Inspira and the person responsible for delivering the National Careers Service contract in the Lancashire locations on behalf of the Growth Company, and in Cumbria on behalf of the Education Development Trust, based in the North East."

“The National Careers Service is vital for people who are struggling to find employment or are looking for new skills to take advantage of employment opportunities in these areas.”

“It is good to see that single parents and people over 50 who offer employers a variety of skills are also included in the priority groups. It is important that we are able to give them additional help to maximise their existing skill sets but are perhaps struggling with progression or their career path due to barriers they are facing.

Nationally the National Careers Service will provide an enhanced delivery model including innovative digital tools that enable and support each customer journey, providing a personalised career growth programme.

At the end of October, Inspira will be offering appointment over skype to help those unable to access a centre or venue due to current work, transport or childcare issues.

Inspira has centres in Barrow, Carlisle, Workington, Whitehaven, Kendal and Lancaster and also delivers in local Jobcentre Plus locations.
