Plans are underway to raise awareness for Employability Day

On Friday 28th of June, organisations around the country will be raising awareness about employment support.

Now in its fourth year, Employment Day will be celebrated by thousands of organisations across the UK. Themed ‘closing the gaps’, Cumbria’s leading personal development and career management company, Inspira, will also be taking part to showcase the work which supports disadvantaged people to enter, sustain or progress into work.

From Workington to Preston, Inspira has a series of activities taking place on the day in Cumbria and North Lancashire.

“It is really important for us to celebrate this day. Not only does it let us showcase our work, but also enables us to celebrate our staff and advisers, and the amazing work they do.”

- Sarah Harrington, Operations Director.

In West Cumbria, the team will also be celebrating the success of 40 newly qualified festival workers who will be starting out on the festival circuit, while in North Cumbria 16-21year olds are being invited to the Carlisle Inspira Centre to experience the types of services the organisation can offer to help people manage their careers and find their potential.

In Barrow the team will be encouraging people to understand online applications and how to prepare for interviews, while in Lancaster and Preston they will be celebrating developing employability skills for young people and the long-term unemployed.
