Attendance Policy

Policy Statement

This policy outlines expectations for learner and punctuality to ensure effective learning and progression.

Applies to all learners enrolled on courses delivered by Inspira.

Background

Learners are expected to attend all scheduled sessions.

If a learner misses more than two sessions without notice, their place on the course may be reviewed.

In general 90% attendance is required to meet course completion criteria, unless prior arrangements are agreed. However, some of our courses have much more specific and rigid attendance requirements, particularity those courses with practical elements. Course specific attendance requirements will be communicated to learners at induction and re-iterated on day one of learning.

While we have high expectations of attendance, in-line with workplace expectations, we will endeavour to take a supportive approach with learners where needed.

Responsibility

Learners must inform the tutor or your Inspira Adviser before the session if they are unable to attend, stating the reason.

Absences due to illness, caring responsibilities, or emergencies should be reported by phone, email, or text.

Punctuality

Learners are expected to arrive on time.

Repeated lateness will result in a meeting with the tutor to discuss support needs or course suitability. Ultimately it may lead to removal from the course.

Authorised Absences

These may include:

Unauthorised Absences

Unexplained absences or frequent missed sessions without valid reasons may lead to:

Support for Attendance Issues

We encourage learners to speak to their tutor if they are facing barriers to attendance. We will endeavour to work with all learners to provide support to enable attendance. Support may include:
