Aleena was referred to Inspira as she was hoping to gain some knowledge and advice concerning the graduate job market and how to best promote yourself. Aleena spoke with an Inspira Skills and Development Adviser, Lisa. Having been travelling before the pandemic Aleena returned home due to the uncertain times. She was undecided on what role or industry she wanted to pursue and felt she lacked confidence in deciding which vacancies would be the perfect match for her.
Inspira facilitated a group workshop for local graduates in similar situations which helped her feel less isolated. Together, Lisa and Aleena went over her strengths and skills which, she already had under her belt. After her 1:1, Aleena was now completing applications to a high standard and had a strong CV. She had learnt to have confidence in herself, in what she was doing and that her hard work would pay off.
“Inspira does more than just tell you how to dress in interviews or how to answer tricky questions… They really focus on you as an individual, your confidence, well-being, and your take on what you want to do and achieve. The job market for graduates is so competitive and leaving university and entering the job market can be a daunting concept. But with the amazing help of Inspira, the process can be made a little easier.”
After her experience with Inspira, Aleena is now moving on to complete a 2-year training programme, training to be a Mental Health Social Worker. As part of her training, she'll gain a Master’s in Social Work.
