Olivia came to Inspira for support after many years away from the labour market. She was a full-time carer for her son until he was able to move into supported living. Olivia secured a job in hospitality but was disappointed when it was cut short due to the pandemic.
During her initial 1:1 with Inspira adviser, Lisa, they were able to discuss what aspects of work she did and didn’t enjoy. She and Lisa identified relevant skills, the types of roles she would like and what routes into that role and opportunities were available to her locally.
Olivia decided to enrol on a Customer Service course with a local training provider. During the course, she was interested to learn that a major supermarket was running an employment programme with Inspira, with a guaranteed interview at the end. Olivia enrolled on the employment programme and Lisa was able to help her prepare for her upcoming interview with the supermarket

Although nervous, Olivia did brilliantly at the interview and was delighted to receive a call later that day, offering her the job. She’s currently training in a number of customer-facing roles and is excited to start this new chapter of her life.
