Inspira’s highly anticipated Jobs and Skills Fair is back for another year. Taking place on Tuesday 14th October 2024, from 9am to 6pm at Barrow Town Hall, this exciting event will bring together over 40 exhibitors, offering a wide range of opportunities for job seekers, career changers, and young people exploring the world of work.

Whether you're currently unemployed and eager to re-join the workforce, considering a new direction in your career, or a student planning your next steps, the Jobs and Skills Fair is designed to support and inspire you.

The event is being organised by Inspira in partnership with Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and Cumbria Careers Hub and is generously sponsored by Team Barrow, University of Cumbria, BAE Systems and the Holiday Inn, Barrow.

Over 40 additional exhibitors will be present, including major local employers such as Sellafield Ltd, Westmorland and Furness Council, Cumbria Tourism, NHS, United Utilities and Cumbria Constabulary. Furthermore, several leading educational and training providers will be present, including Furness College, Gen2 and Kendal College, and among others.

Attending the Jobs and Skills Fair provides a unique chance for participants to engage directly with a diverse range of employers and training providers. By meeting representatives from various sectors, attendees can develop a clearer understanding of the skills and qualifications that are currently in demand. The event also offers valuable insights into the latest trends within the labour market, enabling individuals to make informed decisions about their career paths and personal development.

Recognising the importance of strengthening employer engagement at the event, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) will extend invitations to unemployed adults to participate.

Whether you're ready to take the next step or simply exploring your options, the Jobs and Skills Fair offers something for everyone.

“The Government’s long-term investment in Barrow, and its commitment to the UK’s submarine programme, presents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to transform the lives and livelihoods of our community. This means thousands of new employment opportunities, across a range of sectors, and we’re delighted to support this event and help showcase the many exciting career opportunities Barrow has to offer.”
