Inspira’s Annual Staff Conference: A Celebration of Resilience and Togetherness
On 20th May, Inspira brought together 110 staff members for its highly anticipated annual conference at the Castle Green Hotel in Kendal. With resilience as the theme, the event provided a powerful reminder of the strength found in unity and the importance of supporting one another.
The day began with an insightful introduction from, George Beveridge our Chair of Trustees, setting the stage for an inspiring and meaningful event. CEO Mark Bowman followed with a charity update, reinforcing the impact of our work and our continued dedication to making a difference.
A true highlight of the day was the keynote address by Richard McCann, whose moving talk on resilience—shaped by his own life experiences—left a lasting impression. His story served as a powerful testament to perseverance, positivity and the human spirit’s ability to rise above adversity.

The afternoon was filled with energy and enthusiasm as some colleagues had the opportunity to showcase their projects, sharing ideas and learning from one another.
We also recognised and celebrated staff members who had achieved awards that support their roles or the organisation, from careers advice qualifications to first aid and fire safety.
With team members exchanging knowledge and celebrating achievements, the conference proved how invaluable collaboration is to our success.
It was more than just a day of discussions, it was a chance to connect, whether meeting new faces or catching up with existing colleagues. Coming together like this reinforces the positivity of the Inspira team, reminding us that we are stronger together.
As we look ahead to next year’s gathering, excitement is already building—because in 2026, Inspira will celebrate its 25th birthday. A milestone worth looking forward to!
